We, the Gender Benders of S.M.Shetty International School, are ready to be the torch bearers of the change that we want to see in the society and our world at large, keeping this in mind, we took up the challenge of choosing the United Nations Global Goal 5, Gender Equality, to tackle the gender disparity that still looms large!

Action Plan
STEP 1 CHECKING THE GROUND REALITY
We created surveys where the students answered a range of questions to check what they think about the gender disparity in the world as a community. The Light Bulb Bulletin Board activity helped us understand the views of the students on gender equality.
STEP 2 CREATING AWARENESS
We created awareness in the school by conducting a lot of activities as well as competition like the Look Alike Competition, the Poster Making Competition and the highlight was the Assembly on "Are men and women really equal???"
STEP 3 THE TALKING HEADS
The Radio Buzz helped the kids to talk about the facts related to gender inequality, the students put forth their views for and against the need to cater the gender disparity issue and the Heads of the School were then interviewed to hear their opinions and share these with the students.

The Highlights
*The declaration of the Gender Equality Week gave us the much needed push for the beginning of our journey on our Sustainable development Goal....

*The Assembly which depicted the issues of women in our society gave everyone goosebumps!

*But, due to the Corona Virus Pandemic we could not complete all the activities which were planned by us...
